A church for the 21st century with old New England charm

                    Pastor James Malkemes

Pastor Jim Malkemes was raised in Levittown, PA where he graduated from Pennsbury High School. During his teen years, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior while attending Sunday School. That decision set the course of his life as he felt called by God to pursue the career of a Pastor.

He continued his education at Barrington College, RI where he met his wife, Karen. Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970 with a major in History and Bible, and a minor in Biblical Languages. His graduate studies were completed in 1973, with a Masters of Divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA.

Pastor Jim has served as pastor at the First Baptist Church of Raynham, MA (1973 – 1983) and also at Kingsley Community Church, Kingsley, PA (1983 – 2001) before being called to Newton Junction Baptist Church in 2001. He and his wife, Karen, married in 1968 and have two children, Paul Malkemes and Amy Malkemes. Paul and his wife Glenna have three daughters, Megan, Cady and Grace.

Pastor Jim currently serves as moderator for the Southeast Association of the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire as well as a representative on the Ministers Counsel of ABCVNH. He is involved with a group of pastors who meet monthly for discussion and study. He volunteers with Boston inner-city missions.

Jim enjoys buying and selling collectables and antiques, reading, selling stamps and coins on E-bay. When able, he enjoys watching Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots games.
